Seductive and charming... our Mermaid necklace depicts the mermaid sitting on a rock staring off at the moon.  Let her song mesmerized you like the sailors of old, this is not the call of a Siren.  This statement necklace is a reminder that it is ok to let your heart and passions overrule the analytical mind.  An everyday piece that speaks to the truth of your heart.

HISTORY:  Mermaid mythology is rooted in Greek mythology and the lore of Undines.  Mermaids  represent wild freedom, rebellious spirits and ferocious independence.  They are often depicted holding fishbone combs, this is an ancient nautical symbol of power over nature as sailors believed fish bones could divine or control storms at sea. They are also shown holding mirrors which is a symbol of the moon which speaks of a reflective nature.
